What is engineered timber flooring?
Engineered timber floors are real wood boards formed by joining multiple layers of timber, such as a layer of natural solid wood and layers of pine/ply or other species of wood beneath the tongue. Unlike laminate flooring, which is made from synthetic rubber, plastic or other synthetics, engineered timber flooring is real wood and not a synthetic imitation. Therefore, it can provide the natural look and feel of timber flooring, yet still offer the durability of a manufactured product.
Why should I choose engineered timber for my floor?
Engineered timber is an excellent choice for a home or business. It provides the look and feel of solid timber but with added benefits. Engineered timber flooring has a top layer of natural hardwood, followed by several layers of protective coating. This makes the floor more stable and resistant to wear and tear than regular timber or solid wood. Furthermore, engineered hardwood floors are less prone to warping or cracking when exposed to moisture or changes in temperature. The end result is a beautiful, long-lasting floor that can be maintained easily and kept looking great for years to come. When you choose engineered timber for your home, you get the best of both worlds - the beauty of real wood with the durability and stability of engineered materials.
Does engineered timber flooring scratch easily?
While it may appear to be solid timber flooring, engineered timber is actually much more resistant to scratching and wear than traditional timber flooring. Its superior durability makes it suitable for both residential and commercial use, providing a long-lasting, scratch-resistant floor covering. Furthermore, the top layer of engineered timber is very tough, making it capable of withstanding everyday wear and tear, thus giving any space a timeless look that won't easily show scratches or wear over time. Consequently, engineered timber is an ideal choice for those looking for a durable, scratch-resistant floor covering.
How do you maintain your new engineered timber flooring?
Maintaining your new engineered timber floor can seem like a daunting task, but it is actually quite easy to do. To start, it is important to sweep or vacuum the floor regularly in order to remove dust and dirt. Additionally, regular mopping with a mild cleaning solution is also recommended. This will help keep your engineered timber floor looking great and prevent any buildup of dirt or grime. If spills occur, they should be wiped up immediately with a damp cloth to avoid staining the surface of the floor. It is also important to use felt pads under the feet of any furniture that rests on the engineered timber floor in order to protect it from scratches or dents. By following these simple maintenance tips, you can ensure that your engineered timber floor will remain beautiful for years to come!
